Welcome

What is a Constable?

Kentucky Constables are classified as peace officers and have the same law enforcement powers as sheriffs, coroners, and jailers, including powers to arrest and authority to serve county processes. They may execute warrants, summonses, subpoenas, attachments, notices, rules, and orders of the court.

As an Elected Constable, my duties in Grant County is to serve process for the court system. Constables serve a variety of documents for the District and Circuit Courts and insure the proper service of those documents pursuant to the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. These documents include civil summonses, subpoenas, forcible detainers, motions, orders from the court, criminal summonses, and warrants. Another primary duty is to execute the eviction process through a warrant of possession for the landlords. As District 2 Constables also provide other services throughout the county for attorneys, businesses, landlords, property managers, School Checks, as well as other citizens when in need.
